Great Giver of Souls,
How boring to live perfectly balanced,
Ever poised atop this ball,
No chance of slipping,
No opportunity to run through these lush gardens.
Oh, that I were of flesh and blood,
Moving, living, breathing; taking chances.

Your words have, beautifully, captured the essence of this sculpture.
Yes! While I saw her already alive, you saw her anchored and bound. Your words captured the frustration of paralysis...which sometimes speaks for the human condition, too.
Thanks for playing...this seems to have come naturally for you :).
Great job! Love this poem.
Love it!! This is really good. I like that you utilized the surroundings she's in, not just the girl atop the ball (like I did:))
The statue left me a little sad, too! Interesting that it happened since it's supposed to be so joyful.
I like this. It feels like the beginning of a story, she should get sprinkled with magic dust and come to life at night :)
What a wonderfully heart-felt and inspiration ‘living’ response to this statue in Robin’s challenge! Marvelously unique ;--)
I’ve participated at Sacred Ruminations today combining Robin’s challenge with Haiku Friday.
Hugs and blessings,
OOh, nice twist. Yes, forever perched atop the ball, never able to wander over to the beautiful flowers behind her. Always so close and out of reach.
Nice job!
That's perfect! I love it.
That is just beautiful... a reminder that so many of the lives we see as perfect are facades hiding unseen longings.
I love the perspective you took!
You're good! You have the ability to "see" so much. Here in this image, and in life. Given the previous post, I'm anxious to see where God takes you now. You're in my prayers my friend.
I am so NOT the creative writer. I saw the announcement for this project early on and got very excited. So excited that I misread it's structure. I thought it was going to be a photo challenge rather than a challenge to how one responds to a given photo. I thought we were going to be given a topic to go out and photograph, and then write about which REALLY interested me. When I saw the actual instructions, I sat there with a blank stare and nothing popping into my head. Nothing. Sad, huh?
